Minute Burgers

Okay, it takes longer than a minute to mix these up, but they are so quick and easy to whip up and only take one minute per side to fry up.

Simply mix everything up in a bowl, making sure the spices are evenly mixed through. The. Using a scoop, which ensures all burgers are the same size, scoop out the meat onto squares of parchment or wax paper. Place a second piece of parchment or wax paper on top of each scoop, and flatten with your hand slightly. Then I use a small plate and give each one a press, flattening them out so they are nice and thin, which makes them cook up super fast, which is great for days when the heat outside makes our house feel like a furnace.

Once all the burger patties have been flattened, you can cook them off straight away, or store them in the fridge for up to two days, or freeze them. (This is why I place one piece of wax paper on each side of the burger patties, so when freezing it’s easier to pull just one or two out without trying to pull them apart, as these are quite thin).

When you are ready to cook them off, heat up a large pan over high heat (8) . Once the pan is hot reduce the heat to medium (5) and place 3 or 4 patties depending on how big your pan is. Cook for approximately 1 minute on each side, seasoning with a bit of salt and pepper as you cook them. They will shrink up, which is why I usually place two patties per burger.

Here’s the best part about these burgers, they can be fried up in advance, placed in the fridge and then reheated in the microwave for about 45 seconds for two patties.
